Our Company

At KNC Strategic Services, we provide Cybersecurity Professional Services. We exist to help our clients manage their exposure to the everchanging battlefield of Cybersecurity. We help our clients manage three risks: Compliance Risk (GRC), Cybersecurity Threat Risk, and Information Security Risk.

Our Team

We are patriots who know that our country, our government, our military, our utility companies, and government contractors are under constant attack from invisible adversaries. We are a disabled veteran owned small business.
Our Mission

To provide creative, innovative, and productive services to government agencies, defense contractors, universities and utilities, while focusing on training and hiring veterans, and giving back to the American Military and Veteran community. We have committed 10% of our annual profits to go to help military and veteran families in dire need.

CEO and President

Kelly Kendall has 24 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, and IT. He served as a Marine (Infantry) and is a Disabled Veteran. His background is in B2B Sales, B2C Sales, Sales Management, and Marketing within the Information Technology and Financial Services Industries. Kelly is also the President and Executive Director of our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, US VALOR. Kelly is an entrepreneur, with a passion for startups. He has an MBA from Colorado Christian University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Chuck Buresh has career-level experience providing professional services leadership and service delivery during transformation and modernization initiatives related to risk management and information assurance. He has successfully delivered extremely favorable results to substantial companies in major matters. He has gained broad experience within the global diversified financial services, insurance and public utilities industries. Chuck holds an MBA degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University.  He holds a number of professional certifications in cybersecurity.

Held TS/SCI Security Clearances.  Key scout on emerging issues, ensuring the right strategies are in place for timely, effective use.

Franklin is a recognized industry Cyber Security authority and leader in digital transformation, with substantial experience in steering multiplatform enterprise security solutions. His background includes developing and managing Cyber Security as an enterprise-wide strategic issue in government, medical and financial sectors. He is expert in cloud and security technologies and holds a Department of Defense Active Secret Clearance.

Christopher Newborn
Christopher Newborn was appointed as a Cybersecurity Professor at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) to develop curriculum, teach, and consult government members who are responsible for acquiring, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity capabilities and defending DoD’s networks, systems, and data.

Before his appointment, Mr. Newborn served as the acting Director of Cybersecurity for Program Executive Office of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I); Co-Chaired the Cybersecurity Workforce Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Command; Lead for the Cybersecurity Working Group for PEO C4I; and Acquisition Manager for Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity Program Office.

Mr. Newborn has 18+ years regarding Information Security, 25+ years of Program, Project, and Portfolio Management, and 17+ years of contracts concerning cost estimation, Scope of Work/Statement of Objectives development, and contract monitoring and execution.

Mr. Newborn currently advises the State of California Governor’s Office through the California’s Advance Defense Ecosystems & National Consortia Effort (CADENCE) and the CMMC Advisory Board concerning the CMMC process.  Expected outcomes are to facilitate development of best practices necessary for consistent implementation of industry’s cybersecurity posture and understanding its impact to supply chain integration, innovation, and technology transfer.

Mr. Newborn has earned a BS degree Morehouse College, a MS degree from Naval Postgraduate School, and holds numerous cybersecurity professional certifications.

Jeremy Smith


Jeremy is a highly knowledgeable and dedicated professional with over 15+ years’ experience in information technology, and 10+ years in information security. He is currently the Team Lead of the Critical Infrastructure Protection team (network and systems requiring 99.999% uptime), regulatory compliance, policy and processes for critical systems essential to the reliable and secure operation of the SDG&E Energy Management System. Jeremy provides guidance and direction to their technical staff on methods of implementing North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulatory requirements, solutions, standards and procedures. He also provides guidance and direction to compliance and program staff on security and compliance best practices and potential operational impacts.

Marilyn Fritz


Information security professional (CISSP, CISA), portfolio/project manager and performance improvement/instructional design expert with more than 20 years in IT leading large enterprise cross-functional teams to solve business problems. NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and DoD Capability Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Trainer/Consultant. Marilyn has earned a BA degree from Rutgers University, an MA from Columbia University, and advanced graduate studies at Harvard University.

Jon Bundy


Jon is a security leader with extensive research and development; security tool deployment; architecture; implementation; network analysis; engineering; and project management experience in security, software development, and IT infrastructure domains. He is well versed in offensive and defensive security; systems engineering; software development; and traditonal and agile project lifecycles in DoD, commercial, and utilities industries.
